A cryptocurrency exchange is a dedicated online platform created to exchange both digital currency and real (fiat) currency.

Definition

The essence of the exchange of cryptocurrency is similar to the essence of any other exchange: one trader registers on the exchange and creates an application for the exchange of cryptocurrency with an indication of its value. When there is a return offer from another exchange participant, they close the deal. The exchange receives a certain percentage from each completed transaction.

 

Basic parameters of the exchange

To choose an exchange for trading, you need to evaluate its main parameters:

  1. Turnover within one trading day. The larger the trading volume on the exchange, the more participants it has and the more popular it is.
  2. Conditions for depositing and withdrawing funds. Different trading platforms have different rules for working with different assets.
  3. Working with cryptocurrency pairs. The more choice, the more opportunities to make money on buying and selling them. Trading the most popular cryptocurrencies for a trading platform is a must.
  4. Verification of participants. Some exchanges allow traders to remain anonymous, while others do not.
