Definition

The National Futures Association or NFA is one of the largest and most influential financial market regulators that ensures the integrity of the US futures market.

 

NFA functions

Today, the main functions of the NFA are:

  1. Fight against fraudsters and rule breakers in the futures market.
  2. Regulatory protection and support for investors in the futures market.
  3. Development and implementation of rules for trading in the futures market, creation of a legal framework for this.
  4. Support for indicators of the futures market.
  5. Consideration of disputes between market participants before attracting bailiffs.

Currently, the NAF has more than 55 thousand associate members and 4200 companies registered. The NFA implements and maintains strict business ethics, the need to comply with the rules and guarantees high reliability for all its members.

It is important to note that the basic structure that allows the NFA to operate and have a significant impact on the US futures market is the US legal framework, according to which no financial company can operate in the US without obtaining an NFA license.
